Finch 3D
Fast, Parameter Based Generative Design.
Finch 3D is a great tool for architects who want to explore unique massings through generative design. It runs thousands of iterations for you, allowing you to set parameters like height, setbacks, and program goals to quickly reach the best solution for your project. It’s especially useful in early design phases to test ideas and get instant feedback on performance. Overall, I’d rate it an 8 out of 10 for its generative capabilities and its ability to streamline the conceptual design process. I docked off points due to it being pricey.

Plans Ranging from $50 - $1000
Finch 3D uses a subscription pricing model. Entry level access begins at approx. $50/month. Enterprise/team pricing is $1000 a month, or $12,ooo yearly. A fully-featured free trial is not currently public; interested users should contact Finch for a demo access. Although it is possible to use the most basic functions for free, not including the generative design features, it is not recommended.
**Ethical/Copyright Concerns**
When using Finch 3D, just be mindful of where your files and data come from since it’s a cloud-based tool. Don’t upload anything you don’t have rights to, and remember that the AI’s outputs are based on your inputs. It’s super helpful for quick iterations, but the design ideas should still be yours.
