Design + Massing / Generative Design

SUMMARY:

There are 3 strong AIs that are useful in this category
Snaptrude, Spacio, Test Fit all free for students, however Test Fit needs to be
requested by a professor. The best of these three is Snaptrude as it is more
user friendly and you can do many things with this software, you can generate,
refine in Design, organize in Program, build in BIM, and showcase in
Presentation. Testfit is geared for more professional use and requires a
software download. Despite that, Testfit is good at assisting in creating rapid
analysis of site conditions, building cost, and generative massing. Spacio is
good for early design and massing studies. Planner 5D can be useful for layout
exploration but not useful for anything else.

Snaptrude AI

10 out of 10

Snaptrude — impressive! It handles everything: planning, massing, data management, and more. You can use it with any site, and it even performs code compliance checks. It also exports to Revit and creates presentation sheets seamlessly.

Spacio

6 out of 10

Spacio excels at site analysis and early design but lacks detailed development tools.

Planner 5D

4 out of 10

Like a low quality revit with worse graphics – meaning fully 3-d. The ai component is useful for templates and examples of plans

TestFit

Free Version: 2 out of 10

Paid Version: 7 out of 10

Fast, generative site planner and analysis tool, but not for students
